"Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived."

Oh how we have missed this smile. Poor Josh got croup last Sunday night, nothing big we are used to croup around here now, but then he seemed to just get worse and worse. By Wed he had a really high fever and could not stop crying so of course I waited too late and had to take him to Urgent care that evening. I thought that he just had an ear infection and figured they would give us an antibiotic and send us home, but the Dr. listened to his lungs forever and finally said that not only did he have an ear infection but also pneumonia. My poor baby has been so sick. Not only that but he got two teeth in at the the same time. Today he has been a lot happier and his wheeze has gotten a lot better. He even played and laughed a lot of the day.

I have a friend that lost her husband very suddenly last month, she has been writing her feelings and her thoughts in her blog for awhile now. If you have a minute you should go and read it. She has such an amazing testimony even through this horrible trial. She is trying to still live her life for her son but has so much pain inside her heart. Her last entry is very hard and makes you stop and think about what is really important.

Lexi turned 5 today. I was thinking back about memories with Lex and I remembered a time in Texas when she was 2. We lived way out in the country and one morning I had to run outside to grab something, I was still in my pjs and my hair resembled sagebrush(thanks to the humidity). When I went to get in to the house the door was locked. Lexi was sitting in front of the TV watching Regis and Kelly. I knocked on the door and asked her to open it and she would just yell NO! Then she would laugh hysterically at the tv every time the studio audience would laugh like she understood them. I finally demanded that she open the door and she looked at me and said shhhhhhhhh. So I had to flag some cowboy done and ask him to call my husband because my child would not let me in the house and that was after I ran almost a mile to the nearest neighbor pounded on the door, nobody answered but I can not blame them I am sure when they looked through peep hole all they saw was hair. I have many memories of Lex but it is late and I am tired. I can not believe she is 5. Happy Birthday Alexandria Colleen Dalley, I love you! Oh and Congratulations to my new nephew who will be sharing a birthday with Lexi. he was born today at 8 pounds 6 oz. Ver big, in fact he was so big he broke his arm being delivered. Poor Amanda!

A Mother’s Midnight Prayer
Help me remember, when I feel it’s a chore,
The time will come when I will hold him no more.
Asleep on my chest, the crib refused,
The blanket, the pacifier, gone unused.
What better place is there to lay his head,
Than against my heart, my arms his bed?
For infants grow up and leave us behind
With only memories left to remind.
Of midnight waking and predawn rocking,
Of soft helpless babies unable to sleep.
So, make me patient and keep me awake,
While I cradle this child, and don’t let me take,
For granted the moments I spend in the night
