Dalley Family

Camera is lost!

I wanted to stay with my goal of updating my blog every Sunday but I have looked every where for my camera and finally remembered that I left it at Grandma and Grandpa Dalleys.
I really could not think of anything interesting to talk about with out some pictures so I thought of something even more uninteresting a observation of mine..............hold on this is going to be a good one:)
I recently went to a little gymnastic center with Josh the other day for a little open gym to let him run free when I had a interesting epiphany as a sat between two breastfeeding mothers, you can only move a few hundred miles down the road and you can practically move to another country. You knew this? Well then stop reading and let me go on.
When we lived in Texas there was a definite theme in the names of the people, we knew a "shotgun", (he was our landlord) "T"(yes that was his whole name) "Skeeter", there was a lot of Jim Bobs and the women all had the middle name "Lee", Oh and how could you forget "Fudgie" yes I am serious.
Then we mosey on over to Utah where we spent 10 years, In Utah the names were always cutsie . They were always spelled so weird, or I mean unique. I worked at both a Doctors office and taught kid fit where I had to Always try and pronounce a kids name that was given to me on paper that looked something like this, "Taaeliero", uhhmm I am not sure. The problem was when i would try and pronounce the name I would always get at least one irritated parent who would huffily tell me that it is Taylor, like I should know.
Then we move a couple of hundred miles North and that brings me back to the breastfeeding women that I am sitting next to. This town is a very Eco friendly , all natural , organic area. As I sit on a trampoline between these two very sweet and friendly and so not shy women I listened to the names that they were calling their children, Ollie, Phoebe, Beowulf, Fin, Aquarius, Ollieharrison(I think that is how you would spell it), and Huck. I felt so boring and unintelligent to yell Josh's name across the gym.
After my epiphany I thought about my children's name and what culture would have influenced their names, that thought was short lived because Josh stole Beowulf's ball and there was an unfortunate wrestling match, unfortunate for Beowulf because his family happens to be Vegan and Josh outweighed him by about 20 pounds.

That is too funny. Josh....what a boring name:) I love that name.
I kind of am the huffy mom when people tell me that Tobe should be spelled T-O-B if I want people to pronounce it correctly. Or when they tell me that
T-O-B-E should be pronounced TOBY!! Whatever.

Kids names are so funny these days. I've never heard of a Beowulf. Poor kid;(

A kid with that name deserves a beat down by Josh. I am a little concerned about Driggs Idaho. If you guys become vegan and name your next child Arturo.....that won't ever happen right???

That was not "uninteresting"; that was hilarious. Keep feeding sweet little Josh steak. It does a body good! :)

That is CRAZY! Don't these parents realize that kids get beat up for names like that?
I am so glad you gave your son a name that won't be made fun of!

I'm sorry, but what nickname do you use for Beowulf? Wolfie?? Aquarius?? And here I feel a little guilty about Eamon, and it's just one consonant sound from being Ethan.

Wolfie!! Come here Wolfie! Dinner time! Does he salivate and pant?

What a good kid, keeping those liberals in place. You are the best parents. :-) If you need some sanity, just come over the mountain to Zion.

I laughed through this entire post. You are hilarious Liz. I think I would fit in pretty well in Driggs, Idaho.
