Flashback Friday

My cousin does every Friday where she shows a picture from her past, I loved this idea except
I decided that I would use it to tell stories about my kids that I would like to remember later on down the road. I have been wanting to tell this story for some time because I have had a lot of friends remind me about this and I had forgotten about it and decided that it was too funny not to tell.
When Lexi was probably 6 weeks old maybe a little younger I took her and Sam to the Macy's in Pleasant Grove. Sam was 2 1/2 and the wildest child, now I know some of you that know her now think how could she be any more wild than she is now, but trust me she was much worse, she has had 4 years of therapy so imagine her before the therapy. Lexi was a very fussy baby who hated her car seat, oh and everything else. The shopping trip started like they always do me speed walking down every isle throwing things in as fast as possible, apologizing to those that happened to be in Sam's way. We were almost done I was grabbing the last item milk when I could hear a very distinctive, "thump, thump, thump, thump", loud not quiet either. I ignored it thinking that there was no way that MY child could be doing anything, oh such ignorance. I turned around to Sam grabbing those big balls that are in those big upright cases and she would aim and throw as hard as she possibly could at anybody walking by, I was getting some very nasty looks from many people either because they had been hit with a flying ball or they were disgusted that lexi was now turning purple from screaming so loud. I started to run after Sam to stop her and of course this just encouraged her to throw one last victory ball before I could get to her. Her aim was awesome unfortunately, she threw a huge ball down the aisle of shampoo bottles and hit them so perfect that the ball rolled down the whole aisle and knocked over EVERY SINGLE BOTTLE(i capitalize because I am so not kidding) It looked like an earthquake had hit the aisle. I just took Sam by the hand and hurried to the cash register. While waiting in line Sam decided to run through every cash register aisle, I kept my eye on her frizzy mop of hair as I waited in line trying to console Lexi. Just as I was getting done I noticed that I could no longer see her. I started running up and down the cash register aisles yelling her name but there was no sign of her. The cashier then started to help me also running every where looking, I then started to panic when after about 5 minutes there was no sign of her I told the cashier to call security an then I and a bunch of the employees started running around the store looking for her. I turned the corner that lead to the bakery section and I could see this mop of curly hair sitting on a table, I ran over to her just in time to see her little legs swinging back and forth on the table and her sticking her finger in to a package of donuts that she had opened and eating the jelly off of them. As she saw us coming towards her she leaped off the table took off running out to the front, ran right out of the store and a huge SUV slammed on its brakes barely missing her as she ran to the car. I just grabbed my cart with a hysterical baby and walked outside, I forgot to even pay for the donuts, I am sure they just wanted me gone and they were ok with that. My favorite part of the story was as I was buckling Sam in her car seat she looked at me and with big eyes said,
her-"mom do I get a sucker?"
me-"why would you get a sucker?"
her-"because I was so darn good!"

Holy freakin' cow!! My child wouldn't have lived to see the doughnuts. You are such a patient person. I don't know how you handle it. I think your kids are so darn cute but the stories you tell....holy cow!!

Unbelievable! Just wait. Sam will have a child that is just like she was, and then you can really smile and enjoy the payback!

WOW! I would have thrown my kids into the shampoo! Then ate a donut after locking them into their carseats.
