Walmart
So there are times that I wish I had a camera when I go to the store, because I know that some day that I will laugh very hard about our experiances. But for now I will have to just get it out in writing. As everyone with kids know it is just plain insanity to take your kids to the store, ecspecially Walmart in American Fork. I feel at times I need a signal light on my cart just to get down aisles.I use to have a pretty good way of keeping them in control, Sam had to sit in the main part of the basket and lexi in the front part. Now this would keep them contained, I would have a lot of casualties with food but well worth a few bruised plums for my sanity.(Lexi once would swing the bag of plums above her head and hit Sam with them)
Now that we have baby number three that has bumped both of them out because Josh is in the front and Lexi got a weird obsession with hugging the bread so that booted her out also. So now I have two wild girls loose and I baby that HATES to be in his carseat. He screams from them moment we get in the car untill we get home. I am pretty good at tuning out his cries but when his sister are like escaped monkeys my head really starts to hurt. So Saturday Steve was very sweet to take a hour away from studying to help me get some food. We were in the store not 5 minutes and we hear a HUGE crash, then we here Sam yelling, "Lex did it, I told her not too but Lexi did it. I did not touch anything!" We look down the aile and Lexi had knocked a huge display of pumkins all over the floor. STeve and I actually started laughing pretty hard because LExi was so bright red. Luckily lots of people started to help us and we got it cleaned up pretty quickly. So we decided to continue shopping and as we headed to the food aisle I did not realize that Lex was hanging on the the front of the cart and I slammed her and the cart in to a huge display of boxes as I was turned around trying to tell Sam that she need to catch up. Well poor Lex was squished and I could not stop laughing as Steve picked up yet another display. Not a horrible day but definately funny. Well today was pay day and I had to go to the store because we were out of everything. So before we go in to the store we have a little disucsion as to how they are too act. so we walk in and Josh is crying and BOOM, the girls turn in once again to monkeys. They were all over Lexi decided to climb a shelf and knocked a shelf of items all over the floor and when I asked her why she did that she said that she was looking for a present for daddy. So I pull them aside and tell them that if they can be good that I would get them donuts, now they were extremely excited because donuts are a big deal in our house because I never buy them. So Sam gets to hold the donuts and she calmed downed a lot, not Lexi. I am convinced that she is a baby cougar. She waits and hides for Sam and then when Sam is least expecting she pounces on her. When this happens Sam becomes a giggling mess because she thinks that this is just great. I tired to ignore this because alas I could see the checkout stand in sight, but then all of a sudden behind me I hear a yell and then a plop and then screaming. I looked back to see Sam and Lexi both on the floor crying. Apparently Lexi had miscalculated her leap and had knocked them both flat. I just turned around and kept walking to the finish line(checkout stand). So they both follow me crying and Josh is crying and I start to hum " I am a child of God". (so as to remember that there are children of God and that I have to love them). So we get to the conveyor belt and Sam tried to put the donuts on the belt and I very calmly told her that they made some bad choices and that we were not getting the donuts now. We ll that really started them crying then. So I had Josh who was going hoarse from screaming and Sam and Lexi wailing, then lexi strikes again. She has an amazing ability to pee her pants when she wants too, example: time out, when she is bored, or just in trouble. So Lexi starts screaming at the top of her lungs," I am going to Pee my pants, it is coming out, I am going to pee on the floor!" This was so loud that the people in the aisles next to us were laughing pretty hard. I had already put all my food on they conveyor belt and could not take her to the bathroom because I had people behind me and according to her, "it was coming out!". So I look at Sam and said please take your sister to the bathroom, I do not normally do this because you never know the creeps lurking in the bathroom but I was desperate. So they both take off wailing that mommy was so mean. Long story short they made it back ok and we got everything stuffed in to the car and made it home. AHHHHHH that was very relaxing to get that all out. In fact I laughed pretty hard as I wrote this. I always say that my girls may be crazy but at least they keep me laughing!

Poor Liz!!! I have also come to terms with the fact that I hate shopping with both boys.
Please please please drop them off once in a while at my house. You have a minute to yourself lady! I live on the other side of the overpass from the High School. 1 minute away from Walmart. I'm serious.
oh boy. i LOVE stories of mothers who take their kids to the store. so far, i have it pretty easy. aaron jr is pretty good when we go... just wait until two or three... then i will really know what it is like.
p.s. did they get the donuts?
I still remember when you were at the store and Sam was eating the donuts. :)
very entertaining!
my worst shopping trip was when Ty was a newborn and was of course screaming. Liv was bouncing around the store, and Ethan, who was in the big basket part of the cart was strangely quiet. I couldn't really see him because Ty's car seat was blocking my view. When we got to the checkout I went to get the food out and found that Ethan had eaten his way through a package of hot dogs and there was hot dog juice everywhere. The checker lady scanned the half-eaten package of hot dogs, juice dripping everywhere, without even noticing. I was so embarrassed. Aren't children amazing?
I was thinking the same thing as Christine. The big bouncy ball and the shampoo aisle! Soo funny! Do they still have Grocery Guys out there? I only used them once but it was so nice. Order everything online and they bring it all the way into your kitchen counter. So worth it! You may want to look into that! Love the post Liz!
I was seriously laughing about Lexi having a wierd obsession with hugging the bread! I HATE going to the store with all the kids too it is SO hard and they seem to turn into wold animals! That is why I went at like nine o-clock last night (pay day as well) because the thought of having to take them all with me was so unbearable that I would rather go really really tired. I am glad to hear that you laughed about it and didn't kill them because there are times I have gotten really close too!
Thanks for that uplifting message, I thought I was having a bad day until I read that I laughed so hard I almost had pee coming out, J/K.
